It is a common ideal for both men and women to have youthful, glowing skin. We see billboards everywhere that advertise the newest anti-aging cream or potion. Despite many of the models on these billboards being very young, the message is clear- youthful skin is better skin.
There are multiple factors that contribute to how youthful our skin looks.
We all know about the appearance of pesky fine lines and wrinkles of course. But the science of aging goes way further than that. Our Collagen reserves give our skin its firmness. Our elastin gives our skin its stretch and pliability. Our rate of cellular turnover effects the vibrancy of our skin and its luminosity, or how it reflects light. Aging can even get as complicated as glycation and telomeric shortening of our DNA. Thus, something that seems rather simple is actually rather complex.
Unfortunately, we are not able to stop the clock, nor are we able to prevent gravity from affecting us. When we hit 30 our rate of collagen production automatically starts to decline. Hormonal fluctuations in both men and women cause physical changes in our skin and body. There are, unfortunately, some things we just cannot avoid.
However, all is not lost. There has been a massive explosion in noninvasive technologies that help us to treat the root cause of some of the most common aging concerns.
Here at FIRM Lab, that is our mission, our obsession. I’ve spent thousands of hours researching the most effective technologies and created the products and treatments to be used with them. It all started with the Radiofrequency and grew from there.
I often tell my staff that our treatments are “esthetics on a whole other level”, and there is definitely truth to that statement. Our Hifu treatment, one of our signature anti-aging treatments, is so impactful to the skin that it can even tighten the SMAS Fascia- often the area targeted by a surgical facelift. We can literally pinpoint and target the exact layer of the skin that we wish to treat, to give a significant lift and tightening to the skin.

In the early Summer 2023 I am pleased to announce that we will be launching “The Founder’s Lab”. This is a unique concept that I’ve been working on that uses technology that’s not even yet available in the United States as of the date of this blog.
